The Changing Approach To Testosterone Therapy

As is the common practice for the thinking and approach to different situations to change with time, so too have there been changes to testosterone therapyIt is no longer considered to improve libido and the more complex relations of hormones to the broader functioning of the person is being realized.  But this does not make hormone therapy redundant at all.  It causes a rethink on the priorities of application of the therapy from a lifestyle choice to a more health conscious one.testosterone therapy

The prime focus of testosterone therapy

An additional dose of testosterone does bring on a number of benefits to a person and it is best handled as separate cause and result than consider the use in its entirety.  It should be noted that testosterone is present in both the men and women folks.  But  the measure of the hormone are in multiple times in men than women and thus it is the men folks that bring out a more characteristic features of the hormone.

Bone structure: With age, the densities of bones are seen to be reduced and most major bones would have their walls loosing density and thickness.  With the hormone therapy of HGH replacement, this process is seen to have been controlled to a great extent and in some cases even reversed.  Thus a bit of a hormone shot does indeed bring positive effect to the persons bone strength as a whole and thus can prevent premature fractures and cracking in people.

Muscle loss: The loss of muscle mass and firmness in older people can be reversed to a large extent by introducing testosterone.  The hormone does bring on a marked change in both the men as well as the women and often the dosages are very different in use with the two sexes.  It is to be noted that muscle loss can be kept in check while any muscle gain might have to be achieved by using a good exercise regimen.

Libido: The additional hormone therapy does produce an increased sex drive and it is often that an elated feeling is had in the very first use of the hormones.  But the secondary features like the voice in both men and women do not undergo any marked changes at all.

It is just that a person on a hormone therapy does feel prepped up. Often in a number of cases the reason for feeling up and well cannot be simple explained away.  This is of course the secondary nature of the treatment producing the results in people.testosterone therapy

Should all people be given hormone shots?

This could well be open for debate.  It is the general feeling that the use of hormone shots must be resorted to in the neediest of cases.  If a particular situation is brought about by other reasons and not just the imbalance of the hormones, then there really would be no purpose served by resorting to hormone booster shots.  Thus a more holistic approach is used in most instances.
